You are probably aware that bad breath can be embarrassing. You may have also heard that there are a number of things you could do to help your breath very quickly. However, if you find that you are dealing with bad breath regularly, you could be dealing with other fairly serious problems.

For example, your bad breath may be caused by a problem called dry mouth. While you may assume dry mouth isn’t very serious, it can actually lead to several different issues. You see, if you have dry mouth, your mouth may not produce as much saliva as it should. Unfortunately, without saliva, you’ll be more susceptible to gum disease and tooth decay. These dental problems make it more likely for you to have bad breath. If you’re worried that you have dry mouth, please schedule an appointment with our team as soon as you can and try to remain hydrated in the meantime.

Unfortunately, tooth decay and gum disease could also leave you more susceptible to bad breath. Again, we strongly recommend contacting us if you think you have either of these problems, but please remember that tooth decay and gum disease might be hard to notice on your own. This is one reason we recommend setting up regular appointments with us.
