Each day you should be brushing your teeth at least twice every day. This adds up to a lot of work for your toothbrush. However, most toothbrushes are extremely effective at cleaning and caring for your teeth. However, they will wear down over time. Fortunately, there are many techniques you can use to extend the life of your toothbrush and ensure it is doing the job it is expected to.

When selecting a toothbrush, always look for a brush that is long enough to fit inside your mouth easily and safely. Furthermore, use a toothbrush that has soft bristles, as hard bristles can easily damage your teeth if you brush too hard. Try to replace your toothbrush every 3 to 4 months, or earlier if necessary.

Always store your toothbrush in a safe area that is free of contamination. This includes storing it upright and out of a sealed container, as sealed containers can contain mildew and moisture which can contaminate the brush head. Make sure to never share your toothbrush with anyone else, as well as never use anyone else’s toothbrush. When storing your toothbrush, make sure it does not come into contact with other brushes. By maintaining safe and effective oral health care techniques such as brushing effectively, your teeth and gums can last a lifetime.
